Helping IDF Soldiers One BBQ At A Time
This past November 2024 I was blessed with the privilege of attending a unity trip of women with the organization called Momentum.
As the incredible trip came to a close, after taking us to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Hostage Square, the Nova site and Kibbutz K'far Azza among many other places, we ended the trip with an amazing experience.
Let's call it the best part of the trip.
Celebrating with Israeli Soldiers.
These are photos and the video above from my own camera roll. If only I had taken more pictures of the IDF bbq you'd see how fun and wonderful it was! This will have to do, but the smiles alone are priceless!
We were 100 ladies, a tiny group based on years past, but a mighty group of ladies that went to an all-female unit of soldiers.
These girls, aged 18-20, were at the IDF base and told a surprise is coming!
Imagine their shock when 100 moms showed up at their base to dance and have a bbq with them! These girls haven't been home to be with their families in weeks, some months. They are living in barracks, and here come all these moms with open arms to hug and spoil them!
Priceless.
And we had a dance party too.
To be able to celebrate girls, young enough to be your daughter, that are protecting your freedom to be able to bbq and eat with them was the best feeling.
Actually, there aren't words to express the feeling of watching these soldiers celebrate life, knowing that the party, the bbq, was meant 100% to thank them.
To thank them for protecting us.
The entire world in fact.
Here's the link for the instagram page that provides the bbq for the IDF.
This Giving Tuesday we'd like to continue thanking soldiers in Israel.
I'd even like to go out on a limb and say, let's keep thanking them all year long, but 'tis the season of giving now, so let's concentrate on Giving Tuesday.
